Business Development Manager | Rigid/Thermoformed Plastic | UK | Up to £70k & Bonus

 

 

A leading UK specialist in thermoformed packaging solutions. With full in-house capability spanning design, prototyping, tool build, and technical support, operating from state-of-the-art facilities. Products serve food markets as well as medical. Family-owned, they pride themselves on continuous investment in innovation, quality, and forging strong partnerships with clients.

 

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Hunting and securing new business opportunities across the UK in thermoformed and flexible packaging markets
  • Growing, expanding and deepening relationships with existing clients to increase sales and profitability
  • Leading new product development (NPD) projects from concept through to launch, coordinating with design, tooling, production, and technical teams
  • Managing projects to ensure delivery on time, on budget, and to specification
  • Analysing market trends and client needs, then developing strategies and proposals to target growth in priority sectors (medical, confectionery, etc.)

 

Key attributes required:

  • Demonstrable success in new business development
  • Strong track record of growing & developing accounts, preferably in packaging or adjacent manufacturing sectors
  • Experience with NPD / product launch projects, with ability to manage cross-functional teams and tools/processes
  • Good project management skills, planning, coordinating, problem solving, monitoring progress, ensuring delivery
  • Knowledge or experience in thermoformed packaging is a benefit, but candidates from flexible packaging, board or other related packaging backgrounds will be considered
  • Hunter mentality: self-motivated, resilient, proactive, able to forge relationships, drive through opportunity
